Jain University is located in the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru. Established in the year 1990 as the Sri Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College, the university gained the status of a deemed-to-be-university in 2009. The university has a total of seven campuses, while the main campus is located in Bangalore, spread across 298 acres.

The university is ranked 68th under the university category of NIRF 2023, while the CMS Business School bagged 85th position and the Faculty of Engineering & Technology 115th position. It is also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the NAAC with Grade 'A++'. It also has a tie-up as a member of various national and international organisations including the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Network of International Business and Economics Schools (NIBES).

Jain University has more than 12 schools of study and 25 departments offering different UG, PG, Vocational and PhD level courses. Some of the popular courses offered by this university are BDes, BTech, MTech, MBA, MDes and various others. Admission at Jain University is based on academic merit and entrance exam scores following other selection rounds. The university itself conducts a Jain Entrance Test (JET) for selecting students across different courses. However, apart from the JET exam, there are other entrance exams acceptable for different courses such as CAT, MAT & others for MBA, GATE for MTech and more. • Medha: The Jain University Bangalore Medha Scholarship is provided under the Academics category. It is awarded for the first year of university and may be offered for the next year as well if the student meets the requirements for continuation. Students eligible for this scholarship must be Indian citizens.
• Ekalavaya: The subsequent scholarship offered, is the Jain University Bangalore Ekalavaya scholarship given to students between the ages of 17 and 21. It is offered under the sports category to students who have passed class marks in the qualifying examination and are Indian citizens. 
• Natyaswara: The Jain University Bangalore Natyaswara scholarship is provided under the music and dance category. Candidates eligible should be Indian citizens and must have passed class marks in the qualifying examination. This scholarship is also awarded for the first university year.
• Atharva: This Jain University Bangalore scholarship is provided in the literary category to students who are Indian citizens. All candidates must have passed class marks in the qualifying examination.
• Dyumna: The Jain University Bangalore Dyumna scholarship is given to students under the specially challenged category. All the eligible candidates must have passing marks in the qualifying exam and must be Indian citizens. All candidates must present medical proof in support of their disability.
• Samasti: The Jain University Bangalore Samasti scholarship is offered under the community service category. It is given to students who have first-class marks in the qualifying examination and those who are Indian citizens.
